This Safeguarding Policy outlines how Faye Kazmi ("the Practitioner"), is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and ethically held space for all clients.

This policy applies to all coaching, bodywork, and sound therapy services.

Commitment to safeguarding

Safeguarding is at the heart of this work.

The Practitioner is committed to:

Creating a space where clients feel emotionally, physically, and psychologically safe

Practising with integrity, presence, and professional boundaries

Responding appropriately to concerns of harm, risk, or vulnerability

Scope of practice

Services are trauma-aware and supportive in nature but are not a substitute for clinical or crisis support.

The Practitioner does not provide emergency or crisis intervention services.

Clients in immediate distress or crisis will be signposted to appropriate services (e.g. NHS, GP, emergency services, or specialist support organisations).

Client safety and wellbeing

Sessions are conducted with a consent-based, client-led approach.

Clients are encouraged to communicate boundaries, needs, and any discomfort at any time.

The Practitioner will continuously monitor for signs of distress or dysregulation and may pause or adapt sessions where needed.

Safeguarding concerns

If a safeguarding concern arises, the Practitioner will respond with care and responsibility.

This includes situations where:

  • A client discloses harm, abuse, or neglect (past or present)

  • There is reason to believe a client may be at risk of harm

  • There is risk of harm to others

Confidentiality and limits

Confidentiality is deeply respected. However, there are limits where safeguarding is concerned.

Information will remain confidential unless there is a serious concern for the safety of the client or others.

In such cases, the Practitioner may need to share information with appropriate services or authorities.

Wherever possible, this will be discussed with the client first.

Responding to risk

Where a risk is identified, the Practitioner may:

Encourage the client to seek appropriate professional or medical support

Provide signposting to relevant services (e.g. GP, NHS 111, Samaritans, safeguarding teams)

Contact emergency services if there is an immediate risk of harm

The Practitioner will act in good faith to prioritise safety while maintaining respect and dignity.

Working with vulnerable adults

Additional care will be taken when working with clients who may be considered vulnerable.

The Practitioner reserves the right to request additional support structures (e.g. GP involvement) where appropriate.

Professional boundaries

Clear professional boundaries are maintained at all times.

Any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in termination of services.

Record keeping

Any safeguarding concerns or incidents will be documented factually and stored securely.

Records will be handled in line with UK GDPR and data protection practices.

Ongoing commitment

The Practitioner is committed to ongoing learning in trauma-informed and safeguarding practices, ensuring that care remains ethical, informed, and responsive.

Contact and support

If you have any concerns about safety before or during your work together, you are encouraged to raise them.

Emergency Contacts (UK):

  • Emergency Services: 999

  • NHS 111: Non-emergency medical advice

  • Samaritans: 116 123 (24/7 emotional support)

This policy is part of the ethical foundation of the practice, supporting safety, trust, and respectful care.
